Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, entry-level Field Telecommunications Auditor to conduct visual inspections and technical audits of existing utility infrastructure. In this role, you will travel to field sites to identify, inspect, and record information regarding utility poles, equipment attachments, and wiring. You will work independently or in pairs, operating field technology, measuring tools, and vehicles across diverse outdoor terrains to collect precise data and meet weekly project targets. This role is 100% field based.
Job Duties
- Auditing: Perform physical field audits of utility pole infrastructure by visually identifying, inspecting, and recording attachment heights, line configurations, and equipment details.
- Technology: Operate handheld computers, GPS, cameras, and mobile applications to accurately record observations.
- Navigation: Utilize navigate tools both in vehicle and on foot to
- Autonomy & Collaboration: Operate effectively as a lone worker demonstrating self-sufficiency, or work in pairs to collaborate on scheduling, working hours, and field coverage.
- Public Interaction: Positively and effectively communicate with property owners and local agencies to arrange necessary property access for field work.
- Safety: Recognize unacceptable safety risks and hazards related to the work environment, federal standards, and client specifications. Comply strictly with all company safety regulations, rules, and procedures.
- Travel: 75%–100% of the time for on-site field duties.
Qualifications
- Experience: Entry-level position; prior utility pole auditing or field technician experience is a plus, but full training will be provided.
- Work Environment: Ability to work 100% outdoors in all types of weather (heat, rain, cold) and walk long distances over uneven outdoor terrain.
- License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; comfortable operating company vehicles.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to learn and operate handheld technology and mobile software.
- Adaptability: Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working solo or as part of a team in field environments.
Compensation
- Starting Rate: $18 - $20 / hour based on experience - performance-based increases
- Lodging: Hotel lodging provided by the company through CLC - no room sharing
- Meal Per Diem: $35 / day - must work minimum 6 productive hours
- Overtime: Time and a half after 40 hours / week
