Position Overview

Under the general direction of the GIS Manager, the GIS Coordinator will communicate and act as a liaison between the core GIS team and a specified market division. Additionally, the GIS Coordinator will create and update asset management data for Electric & Telecommunication Networks.

Asset Management​ is a division of Davey Resource Group (DRG), has been employee owned since

skills.

Job Duties

  • Oversee process management of multiple projects.
  • Ensure deliverables are prepared to satisfy the project requirements, cost, and schedule.
  • Process request from specified markets that may include but are not limited to: Joining historic data to new data, analyzing and cross referencing multiple datasets spitaily or tabularly and creating cartographically correct maps utilizing ESRI’s software.
  • Create and update data for electric & telecommunication distribution networks. (ESRI Utility Networks, Geometric Networks and Joint Use data).
  • Update & load data into an enterprise geodatabase environment.
  • Coordinate, lead, and communicate project and market logistics to GIS Manager and other relevant parties including external clients.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and solves technical issues relating to the enterprise GIS such as data synchronization and replication issues (one way and two way replication).
  • Interpret and understand client source data for the purpose of disseminating to team members and process development.
  • Test and enforce quality assurance and quality control of GIS and associated data.
  • Instructs and directs the work of analyst and technicians performing project specific duties.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to a team of GIS professionals.
  • Develop team members skill sets, capabilities, & motivation.
  • Conduct weekly team meetings to discuss projects and updates.
  • Facilitate problem solving and collaboration.
  • Administer certain roles and practices within ArcGIS online.
  • Cultivate a positive culture.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in GIS, geography, or a related field preferred.
● Compensation based on qualifications and experience.
● 3 years plus of experience.


Necessary Knowledge and Skills:
● Detail originated.
● Concise and articulate communication skills.
● Advanced understanding of an enterprise geodatabase environment (both archiving and versioning).
● Asset Management knowledge for Electric & Telecommunication Distribution Networks preferred.
● Experience with ESRI product suite and other GIS related software such as Google Earth.
● Advanced knowledge and understanding of cartographic principles, spatial data models, statistics, Geographic Information Systems, GPS and relational database functionality.
● Desire to teach and develop employees and coworkers building strong cohesive teams.
● Time management and prioritization.

Additional Information

The ideal candidate would be comfortable communicating with multiple levels of internal and external
office and field personnel. This position will be in the Albuquerque, NM area. Candidates must be
comfortable working full time with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Compensation based on
experience. DRG offers excellent benefits including: health, dental, vision and life insurance after 30
