Position Overview
We are looking for a Payroll and Benefit Supervisor to join our team at Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited. This position is based at our corporate office in Ancaster, Ontario, and reports directly to the Payroll and Benefit Manager. In this position, you will play a key role in supervising the administration and communication for the payroll and benefits department.
Job Duties
- Obtain, enter and/or verify data in the payroll system (using ADP and SAP)
- Provide information to employees on payroll and benefit matters for approximately 850+ salaried and hourly employees based in Ontario, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Northwest Territories.
- Process adjustments/entries for overtime, new hires, hours and earnings adjustments, terminations, severance, taxable benefits, vacation differentials, salary increases, incentives, garnishments, and Group RRSP contributions.
- Identifies benefit records by developing recordkeeping systems; initialing new hire benefits; recording changes.
- Workers’ compensation reports and payments
- Ensuring compliance with all government regulations and company policies
- Ensure the privacy and confidentiality of all employee information
- Manage all required functions as detailed on Payroll Run Checklists
- Maintain employee records and filing systems
- Work accurately and efficiently under pressure
- Assist team members to meet tight processing deadlines
- Coaching, monitoring and appraising payroll and benefit team
Qualifications
- Minimum ten years’ experience in payroll end to end administration with
5-10 years’ experience in group benefits. - Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to perform in a multi-tasking environment
- Detail oriented
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office –Excel and Word
- Working knowledge of SAP, SuccessFactors and ADP
- Strong working knowledge of legislation related to payroll and benefits
