Position Overview

We are currently looking to add a dynamic Environmental Technician to our passionate team of environmental professionals.
 

Job Duties

The Environmental Technician will provide our government, utility, commercial and not-for-profit clients with the services and solutions needed to efficiently and effectively manage natural resources, comply with policies and obtain regulatory permits. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Environmental Restoration Technicians work under the direction of Project Managers to provide our government, utility, commercial, and not-for-profit clients with the services and solutions needed to efficiently and effectively manage natural resources, comply with policies, and obtain regulatory permits. Overall duties encompass inspecting, managing, and maintaining a wide range of habitats, both natural and disturbed.  Daily tasks include native seed installation, native plug planting, tree/shrub installation, invasive species control, or other tasks related to habitat restoration. An interest in or educational focus on wetland, stream, and forest habitats, is preferred.

Travel Expectations: Frequent travel within New Jersey; occasional travel to surrounding states in New England and Mid-Atlantic Areas

Qualifications

Education and Qualifications:  

An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty consistently and satisfactorily.  The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Two to four year degree in Biology, Botany, Ecology, Forestry, Horticulture, Hydrology, Soil Science, Zoology or related discipline or equivalent experience in a similar position.
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record are required
  • Natural resource consulting experience preferred.
  • New Jersey Certified Pesticide Applicator License or willingness to gain certification
  • Ability and willingness to travel 
  • Experience with handheld GPS equipmnet/willingness to learn
  • Capability of working outdoors and hiking in varying terrain and weather conditions
