Position Overview

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking a full-time mid-level GIS Specialist to join our Geospatial services team where you can expand your knowledge and accomplish your career goals on our existing and future projects focused throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. Job Duties

 

  • Support the development of company-wide web and data collection applications using ESRI and CADD software.
  • Conduct spatial analysis using statistical and/or geoprocessing tools.
  • Perform vector and raster-based spatial data management and processing.
  • Contribute to local and regional watershed and land cover analysis projects.
  • Create and format mapping data and products for engineers, scientists, and archeologists .
  • Maintain existing python scripting and collaborate to improve and innovate through automation.
  • Provide occasional in-person field support of mobile data collection applications. 

Qualifications

 

Ideal Background 

  • Degree in or related to GIS, Geography, Environmental Sciences, and/or a Professional Certificate in GIS 

 

Preferred

  • Experience with ESRI desktop ArcMap and ArcPro, ESRI ArcGIS Online, ESRI FieldMaps, Survey123, Autodesk/AutoCAD, and MS Excel
  • Interest in remote sensing, image analysis and LiDAR processing .
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Superior organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Desire to problem solve and take initiative to help team members and provide best possible deliverables to client
