Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated, self-driven and enthusiastic individual to work at our Kent, Ohio SEED Campus Training Facility supporting our meeting & events team. The Meetings & Events team successfully plans and executes Davey meetings, conferences, and training. Functions may include virtual and live meetings. This role calls for flexibility, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with all levels of Davey employees in addition to outside clients, partners, vendors, and community.

Job Duties

  • Managing food and beverage for meetings and trainings.
  • Develop and maintain food and beverage policies and procedures including minimizing waste.
  • Administrative responsibilities include but are not limited to ordering food, working with vendors, writing emails, sending invites, gathering RSVP’s, designing forms, and printing name tags, maintaining and managing stock inventories, package/shipping, etc.
  • Event set-up, tear-down, clean-up. Involves setting up meeting materials, Audio Visual (AV), Food & Beverage.
  • Purchasing or restocking supplies and maintaining inventories.
  • Audio Visual (AV) Tasks - connecting computers to TV monitors, and projectors. Tying in remote advancers, and sound systems. Understanding of automated lights.
  • Welcome desk support: oversee access to building, answer phones, greet visitors, provide tours and answer questions as necessary.
  • Ability to use or learn Excel, Word, MS Forms, MS Teams, and Canva programs to complete administrative projects for functions and events. Tasks - design posters, invites, name tags, and create spreadsheets, surveys, etc.
  • Work schedule Monday through Friday, occasional weekend or evening assistance determined by meeting, and events scheduled at the SEED Campus.
  • Ability to carry or lift 50 lbs.
  • Car required for various responsibilities and projects outlined.

  • Eye for detail, resourceful and basic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Team player, while also having ability to work independently.
  • Ability to switch tasks, work on a variety of projects efficiently and effectively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excell. Ability to learn new computer programs when skill levels dictate.
  • Basic knowledge of audio visual (AV) with desire to learn more.\
  • Desire to provide “Guest” service, delivering service to everyone as if they were a guest in your home.
