We are seeking a strategic, hands-on, and process-oriented leader to manage our company’s national email marketing and lifecycle automation ecosystem. This position is a perfect fit for someone who understands the strategic "why" behind the send, balances technical logic with content and copywriting, and is passionate about driving measurable customer engagement. 

 

In the short term, you will roll up your sleeves to execute critical campaigns, build standard operating procedures, and act as our primary platform administrator. Long-term, you will help architect our broader customer lifecycle journey through email and set the foundation for our ongoing automation strategy. 

 

Who You'll Work With 

You will be the central hub for our email and lifecycle marketing initiatives and act as the primary liaison between our Marketing Technology team, shared corporate creative resources, and divisional marketing leaders to orchestrate a highly personalized customer experience across the entire lifecycle. 

Job Duties

Lifecycle Strategy, Content, & Copywriting

  • Strategic Journey Design: Architect, build, and optimize automated customer lifecycle journeys that align with key customer touchpoints.
  • Direct-Response Copywriting: Serve as a strong internal voice for email content creation. Write compelling, high-converting copy, subject lines, and calls-to-action (CTAs) that drive engagement while maintaining brand voice.
  • Dynamic Content Mastery: Design and manage responsive email templates utilizing advanced dynamic content to efficiently support a diverse portfolio of acquired brands under a cohesive corporate umbrella.
  • AI Innovation: Leverage Generative AI tools to accelerate content ideation, draft multivariate subject lines for A/B testing, outline content blocks, and streamline routine copywriting tasks.

 

Audience Segmentation & CRM Management

  • Advanced Segmentation: Architect the audience segmentation strategy leveraging internal databases to deliver highly targeted, behavior-driven communications based on region, service history, and user intent.
  • Air Traffic Control & Database Health: Act as the ultimate gatekeeper of the email strategy. Establish and enforce contact-frequency rules, suppression lists, and database hygiene practices to optimize delivery and protect domain reputation.
  • Technical QA: Own the ultimate Technical QA for all automated flows and complex campaigns, ensuring flawless logic, accurate personalization tokens, and responsive rendering across all email clients and mobile devices.

 

Platform Administration & Vendor Management

  • Data Analysis & Performance Optimization: Deliver regular strategic analysis that connects front-end email metrics (opens, clicks, deliverability) to downstream business outcomes like customer retention, lead-to-booking conversions, and channel revenue.
  • Tech Stack Ownership: Act as the primary administrator and power user for our marketing automation platforms (Act-On and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights) and adjacent tools (e.g., Litmus).
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, coordinate regular partner check-ins, lead annual SaaS renewal negotiations, process invoicing, and evaluate emerging platform capabilities.
  • Technology Integration: Coordinate technical integration requirements with the internal Marketing Technology team to ensure seamless database alignment and data flow.

 

Process, Governance, & Performance

  • Playbook & SOP Development: Create and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for email deployment, asset management, and brand onboarding to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Intake & Governance: Establish a content intake workflow and governance model for managing email communication requests from across the broader organization.
  • Data Analysis & Performance Optimization: Establish campaign KPIs based on industry benchmarks. Deliver regular performance analysis, using data-driven insights to continually optimize open, click, and conversion rates.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 4+ years of progressive experience in digital marketing, with a dedicated focus on email marketing, content creation, and lifecycle automation.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Business, or a related field.
  • Platform Proficiency: Hands-on experience with enterprise marketing automation platforms. (Direct experience with Act-On and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights is highly preferred; equivalent systems like HubSpot, Marketo, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud are acceptable.

 

Technical & Creative Skills

  • Direct-Response Copywriting: A strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to write engaging, high-converting email copy and subject lines.
  • Automation & Segmentation Logic: Deep experience architecting complex if/then automation tracks, dynamic content variables, and custom CRM target audiences.
  • Data Literacy & Analytics: Ability to analyze campaign data, interpret performance trends, and translate metrics into actionable optimization strategies.
  • Email Infrastructure & Best Practices: Expert-level knowledge of deliverability, rendering troubleshooting, responsive layouts, and accessibility standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Clear understanding of data privacy and spam compliance guidelines (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CCPA).
  • Stakeholder Diplomacy: Strong collaboration skills with the confidence to enforce database contact limits and protect the customer experience.
  • Growth Mindset: A proactive problem-solver eager to leverage cutting-edge workflows (including Generative AI tools) to scale a lifecycle program.
