The Job Analysis Specialist position within the Human Resources department supports the whole organization in the area of employee classification and occupational trends, job description management, analysis and review of positions. They will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of all related projects.  

Job Duties

  • Evaluate job positions, determining classification, exempt or non-exempt status, and salary.
  • Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements, in collaboration with the compliance and legal teams.
  • Research and prepare occupational classifications and salary scales across the organization.
  • Evaluate the organization’s positions by writing or assigning job descriptions for current and new positions.
  • Provide advice on the resolution of classification and salary discrepancies.
  • Research job and worker requirements, structural and functional relationships among jobs and occupations, and occupational trends to align with the industry.
  • Advise managers and employees on state and federal employment regulations, collective agreements, benefit and compensation policies, personnel procedures, and classification programs in collaboration with the Human Resources team.
  • Prepare reports, such as organization and flow charts and career path reports, to summarize job analysis and evaluation and compensation analysis information.
  • Plan, develop, evaluate, improve, and communicate methods and techniques for selecting, promoting, compensating, evaluating, and training workers.
  • Observe, interview, and survey employees and conduct focus group meetings to facilitate the content development of job, organizational, and occupational information and data.
  • Assess the need for and develop job analysis instruments and materials.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, administering, and evaluating employee relations programs, including performance appraisal, affirmative action, and employment equity programs.
  • Perform all duties as required
  • Report timely and accurately to the supervisor

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills, including listening, receiving feedback, serving, partnering, and sharing outcomes with the business.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to lead, manage, and supervise projects in collaboration with operations to ensure organizational outcomes.  
  • Excellent computer and analytical skills.  Ability to access reporting software, interpret data, and present relevant information to the organization in a valuable context.
  • Prior experience in occupational analysis, compensation analysis, facilitating the development of job descriptions and competencies, or related HR experience required.
  • Exceptional work ethic with a high degree of independence who can work in an agile environment with a professional and proactive demeanor.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher certification required
  • Master’s degree in related HR field preferred
  • Preferred: SHRM credentials
  • Preferred: Certified Compensation Professional
  • Preferred: SAP and SuccessFactors experience
