Position Overview

Davey is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Learning Management Systems Administrator. This position is based within the Education & Training department of the Davey Institute in Kent, Ohio, which is responsible for research and development, environmental programs, technical support, and education and training for all North American operations. This is a technical role that requires a strong systems background and will be based in the Kent office.

 

The LMS Administrator is responsible for optimizing and supporting our Learning Management System (LMS) in order to boost employee adoption of training. This detail-oriented role is ideal for someone with a passion for leveraging technology to enhance training experiences. The LMS Systems administrator configures and manages the LMS on a day-to-day basis, ensuring alignment with existing systems and corporate goals, resulting in a seamless, compliant, and data-driven learning experience across the organization.

Job Duties

The Systems Administrator position includes the following duties, functions, and responsibilities:

  • Ensure the LMS is configured to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Maintain the LMS including, but not limited to: overall functionality, user access  roles and group structure.
  • Track organizational changes and update the LMS accordingly.
  • Manage LMS integrations in collaboration with HR and IT support teams and automate data flows.
  • Upload and manage the course content catalog.
  • Perform system audits, updates, and document changes for stakeholders.
  • Ensure content is organized and easily searchable.
  • Provide user support and troubleshoot LMS issues.
  • Develop SOPs and LMS user guides.
  • Generate reports and analyze engagement and compliance.
  • Align analytics with organizational goals in collaboration with reporting teams.
  • Coordinate with internal teams about vendors about system needs.
  • Use relevant data to measure effectiveness and usability of LMS features.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in collaboration with the E&T team.
  • Evaluate and recommend LMS tools to enhance user experience.

Technical

  • Manage and configure database-driven LMS platforms.
  • Work with IT and HRIS teams to build system integrations and data flows into LMS.
  • Diagnose and resolve system access, content, and performance issues.
  • Generate learning data and identify relevant metrics.
  • Maintain system performance.
  • Microsoft Suite tools.
  • Writing technical specifications for integrations.
  • Systems testing, including test planning and creating scripts.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and identify solutions to improve the system. 
  • Evaluate the LMS using relevant data and suggest areas for improvement and workable solutions.
  • Examine LMS systems, processes, and workflows to identify challenges and create solutions.
  • Identify features and capabilities that will best meet the needs of the organization.

Organization & Project Management

  • Organize and maintain learning content and training records.
  • Solve problems creatively.
  • Create, edit, and update written reports and documentation.
  • Implement process improvements and accurately document updates.
  • Manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Work independently and collaboratively as needed.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Communicate and coordinate with internal teams and corporate stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with corporate and field personnel and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with learning data and creating stakeholder reports.
  • LMS infrastructure or HRIS experience.
  • Experience of LMS and HRIS systems integrations.
  • Experience working with Brainier or ClearCompany products.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Learning.
  • Basic Programming skills.
  • Experience with CPI (Cloud Platform integration) or SAP Integration Suite.
  • Functional HTML skills.
