Position Overview

This role at The Davey Tree Expert Company is to own the technical side of SAP for the Davey Tree Product Team while reporting to the IT Product Manager.  SAP ABAP Developer will design, develop, test, implement, and provide support of development objects for the ECC and S4 instances. Role requires a concrete understanding of OData and API management. This position requires strong technical leadership skills responsible for the coding practices, development, and support of enterprise-class applications across all key process areas such as HCM (SuccessFactors), CATS, SD, PS, FI, CO, and MM.  This role will be responsible for the integration of these modules with home grown applications and be able to guide non-SAP development resources.

Job Duties

Essential duties include developing SAP solutions utilizing development in various areas and customize and support the implementation of future SAP modules; ensure custom developments utilize newer technologies and tools; and work closely with the Functional, BASIS, Front End, and security team to coordinate testing, validation, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality solutions.  

  • Evaluate SAP roadmap, provide recommendations on tools, software, and implementation strategies.
  • Exposure to various integration scenarios and experience in working on major adapters including SFTP, SOAP, REST, IDOC, ODATA, JDBC, SuccessFactors etc.
  • Open to work on projects that may span a broad range of systems. Requires expertise in multiple technical environments and possesses an increased level of business knowledge.
  • Understand and worked on different API types of SOAP, REST, and ODATA.
  • Integration with SAP UI5/Fiori apps.
  • Complex ABAP programming, testing and debugging functions related to the implementation/enhancement of SAP modules.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to handle and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good understanding of both business processes and technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with team and business stakeholders.
  • Hands on experience in Change Management and Transport Management Process.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables and projects at the same time.
  • Exposure to work closely with Business process teams.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • A proven track record in SAP ECC experience in object-oriented programming (OO ABAP)
  • Hands on experience using CPI for creating new integrations connecting to SuccessFactors API's and other SAP Cloud applications from technical specifications. 
  • Understanding of SAP functional requirement, conversion into technical design and development using ABAP language for Report, Interface, Conversion, Enhancement and Forms in implementation or support projects.
  • Ability to review code and and system configurations to develop a deep understanding of the systems solution that supports the corresponding business process.
  • Familiar with Web Service development/WSDL interfaces, ABAP Webdynpro and OData Services Strong analytical problem-solving and conceptual skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of Point-to Point integration from SuccessFactors to Employee Central Payroll.
  • Experience in upgrading certificates on integration objects.
  • Knowledge of SuccessFactors and EC Payroll.
  • Experience using SAP Business Application Studio/WebIDE to develop and enhance Fiori applications, Workflows, extensions, and developing application on Cloud.
