Position Overview
The Davey Tree Expert Company has a career opportunity in the Kent, Ohio corporate office for a full-time Treasury Analyst.
The Treasury Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the Davey Tree Equity Program, including coordination with our third-party stock plan administrator, stock transaction processing, shareholder communications, and confidential recordkeeping. This role will assist with annual insurance applications and the risk management survey, as well as support certificates of insurance and bond requests for the organization. The position will provide daily support for cash and Treasury operations, including cash forecasting, short-term borrowing analysis, and reporting. There will be additional development opportunities, when appropriate, for further development which may include shareholder relations, banking analysis and reporting, and special projects as assigned.
Job Duties
- Review, update & maintain cash forecasts, by working with the Treasury Manager to maintain formulas and structure of Excel based cash forecast and use trend analysis to assist with predictive trend patterns.
- Reconcile actual cash results to forecast and explain variances.
- Predict short-term borrowing needs.
- Assist with calculating dividend payments and allocation of shares to 401KSOP.
- Assist with maintaining shareholder records through the third-party stock plan administrator, including demographic updates, stock transaction records, and related activity, with strict confidentiality.
- Work to prepare presentations for senior leadership meetings (i.e. Board of Directors, Stock Awards, Annual Plan).
- Prepare weekly ESPP redemption report for management.
- Prepare routine correspondence to shareholders.
- Prepare wire transactions.
- Process check requests and invoices.
- Assist with various mass mailings relating to shareholder activity.
- Assist with completing the annual insurance applications.
- Support certificate of insurance and bond needs between Marsh and internal requestors.
- Assist with annual enterprise risk management (ERM) survey.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail via email, fax, FedEx, etc.
- Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of business finance or other related experience.
- Must work well in teams and excel in a fast-paced environment. Must be flexible.
- Take initiative and be coachable.
- Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions. Proficiency with Excel is critical for success in the role and familiarity with data query tools is extremely helpful (SQL, Business Objects).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); SAP a Plus
- Must be able to communicate professionally, both written and verbally.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials.
