Position: Herbicide Field Supervisor

Position location: Knoxville, TN

Position Type: Hourly  $24-$27

What you'll do:

  • Supervisor 2-4 local herbicide technicians. 

  • Perform various types of herbicide applications in and around utility ROWS and facilities 

  • Maintain electronic spray logs to record the amount and types of herbicide used, weather conditions, locations treated, and other pertinent information for the application records.

  • Inspect and assess vegetation in right-of-ways for efficacy of herbicide applications.

  • Identify non-compatible plant species that need to be controlled throughout the ROW

  • Coordinate with local clientele and non-local company management.

  • Perform and coordinate general equipment maintenance to ensure proper operation.

  • Review weekly timesheets for location and hour accuracy.

What you'll need:

  • 3+ years of hands-on herbicide experience in commercial or utility ROW.

  • Tennessee Applicators License or ability to obtain by 2/1/2026 

    • Category: CO2 & CO6

  • DOT certified preferred.

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds. 

  • Ability to operate with limited remote supervision.

  • Leadership experience and a desire for career growth will be given a priority.

  • Demonstrated expertise in problem solving, meeting deadlines, and technical innovation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Availability and desire to travel throughout the utility service area.

  • Valid Driver’s License with clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a UTV.

  • Organizational skills; working knowledge of computers and programs, file creation, manipulation, and sharing.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
