Position Overview
Prepare soil and growth media, cultivate, and participate in horticultural activities under supervision on acreage, in nursery, or in an environmentally controlled structure such as a greenhouse or shed by performing the following duties.
Pay is based on experience, $18-$21 per hour.
Job Duties

- Enhance the appearance and value of properties through the cultivation of shrubs and trees.
- Plant, spray, weed, fertilize, and water plants, shrubs, and trees.
- Perform proper pruning to prevent girdling roots and promote a central leader on trees.
- Transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees, and shrubs.
- Prepare trees for pickup through the process of balling and burlapping.
- Load and unload materials, containerized shrubs, plants, and trees.
- Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems.
- Drive, use, maintain and properly operate landscape equipment.
Qualifications
• Must be at least 21 years of age to be a Department of Transportation (DOT) certified driver for specific vehicles or equipment.
• Ability to complete required safety courses upon hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Career Development Program (CDP) books.
• Valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.
• DOT medical card, or ability to obtain one to be a Davey Qualified Driver for some positions.
