The Davey Resource Group is looking to hire 1-8 on-call Botanist Leads, 1 Botanist Specialist and 1 Botanist Technician to support our disaster restoration efforts in North Carolina. This is an on-call position with an estimated project length of 6-9 months. Travel costs will be covered and per diem awarded. When on project you can expect to go back home at least once per month.

What You'll Do

• Successfully contribute to all aspects of vegetation management planning and analysis.
• Plan and implement plant community restoration projects.
• Identify degraded wetlands and native grassland sites in need of restoration using GIS and field investigations.
• Conduct field visits to located areas in need of restoration.
• Track all activities and report to our client.

What You'll Need

Minimum requirements:

• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Hold a current U.S. drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of various ecosystems, habitat restoration planning, and project delivery.
• Effective coordination and communication skills.
• Experience with GIS and project management.
• Attention to detail and problem solving with little to no supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Love of the outdoors and the ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather.

Lead qualifications: 

• Hold a Bachelor of Science in wildlife or related field.
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience in habitat restoration or management.
