Position Overview
Davey Resource Group, Inc. is actively seeking a self-motivated, organized, and dedicated individual to join our team as an Herbicide Specialist. The selected candidate will be working out of our Raleigh, North Carolina office.
Job Duties
Primary work duties of this position will include leading herbicide efforts for a variety of public and private clients for treatment of invasive species on mitigation sites, energy facilities, defense facilities, and public property. Additional responsibilities may include assisting in wetland delineation and mitigation site monitoring, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and technical report writing. Candidates must have a valid NC Pesticide license or be able to obtain one within six months of hire date. Experience in wetland delineation and native plant identification is preferred.

Education and Qualifications:
An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty consistently and satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

- Respondents should have a minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related field (i.e. forestry, environmental science, wetlands, ecology, etc).
- Respondents should have a valid NC Pesticide License or be able to obtain one within six months
- Additional pesticide licenses in SC, GA, TN, and/or VA strongly desired.
- Candidates should possess skills in using office software (Microsoft Word/Excel/Google Docs etc.) and working cooperatively in a team environment.
- Candidates should also be comfortable using a backpack sprayer and working outside (primarily woods) in difficult (e.g. hot or remote) field conditions.
- Experience with GPS equipment and ArcGIS pro is preferred.
- Driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
