Position Overview
We are currently looking to add a dynamic Consulting Arborist to our passionate team of environmental professionals.
Job Duties
The Consulting Arborist will provide our government, commercial, and not-for-profit clients with the services and solutions needed to efficiently and effectively manage trees and urban forests by inspecting trees and other vegetation and identifying common defects. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Identify and measure local tree species, understand their typical growth rates and recognize indicators of common diseases and pest infestations.
- Prescribe appropriate tree work needed to mitigate risk.
- Draft reports including tree preservation plans and tree risk assessments.
- Extensive contact and communication with clients to report on the status of projects, identify problems and develop solutions.
- Individuals will represent the company and the client at professional meetings and will communicate ideas, technical information and industry intelligence as appropriate.
- Potential for growth opportunities in sales and business leadership.
Qualifications
Education and Qualifications:
An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty consistently and satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Previous experience successfully working as an Arborist or equivalent experience in the industry will be required.
- Two to a four-year degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Environmental Science, Plant Biology or related discipline or equivalent experience in similar positions.
- Technical certification(s) and licensing as required (including but not limited to ISA Certified Arborist credential, TRAQ qualification, etc.)
- Current Driver’s License and Driving Record in good standing.
- Urban forestry experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a sales role is desirable. Experience in community engagement or public speaking is also preferred.
- Proficient working knowledge of computers. Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Compensation Data
Compensation competitive based on experience. Starting rate: $36-38 per hour.
